Return to the wild this summer solstice

Registration for our 2026 Costa Rica retreat has now closed. Join our newsletter to be the first to know about our 2027 retreat.
At the far edge of Costa Rica, the rainforest meets the sea in a place so alive it has been called the most biologically intense on Earth.
This is where you'll arrive, not to escape life, but to remember it.
Our six-night Costa Rica retreat takes place on the Osa Peninsula, immersing you in both rainforest and beach and guiding you through our Five Element Method — where Water, Air, Fire, Earth, and Stardust each open a different pathway back to yourself.
Our approach blends ancient wisdom with science-backed practices that support nervous system regulation, emotional nourishment, and lasting transformation.
Your experience begins with a welcome night at La Paloma Lodge, then continues by boat into Corcovado Wilderness Lodge, a five-star eco-lodge accessible only by water and set within Corcovado National Park.
Throughout the retreat, you’ll experience ancient rituals, sound healing, cultural exchange, and full immersion in the landscapes of the Osa Peninsula – from guided rainforest tours to meditation in handwoven tree nets suspended high above the jungle floor.
You’ll remember what it feels like to slow down, listen inward, and be present with yourself. And you’ll leave with clarity, ease, and a renewed sense of purpose in life.
Our experience closes on the eve of the Summer Solstice, where we gather in ceremony beneath one of the most brilliant night skies to honor the cycles of nature and the Stardust that connects us all.
The Week at a Glance
Each day of our Costa Rica retreat is inspired by one of the five elements of nature: Water, Air, Fire, Earth, and Stardust. Together, they create a natural arc from releasing what no longer serves you to reconnecting to yourself.
-
After a scenic flight into Drake Bay, you’ll be welcomed on arrival and continue by boat to La Paloma Lodge. Our first evening together is a chance to settle in, take in the ocean views, and enjoy the surrounding wildlife.
At the end of the day, we’ll come together for a welcome dinner and opening circle to get to know each other and set intentions for the week ahead.
-
Water invites release. This day is devoted to letting go and creating space for what’s ready to emerge.
You’ll begin the morning on a remote stretch of coastline where the rainforest meets the sea. Through guided meditation and time in the ocean, you’ll work directly with the rhythm of water to release what no longer serves you.
From there, you’ll travel by boat along the coastline to Corcovado Wilderness Lodge, arriving by water to your private rainforest villa.
The day culminates in a water ceremony in the lodge’s freshwater pool, sourced directly from the mountain. Surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest, this moment is designed to deepen the day’s work and open you to what comes next.
-
Air brings awareness, clarity, and a deeper understanding of the beliefs that shape your reality.
The day begins with a guided sound, stretch, and breath experience, designed to create space in both the mind and body and allow what has been unconscious to rise into awareness.
Set high within the rainforest canopy, you’ll be guided through a meditation experience in handwoven tree nets suspended more than 100 feet above the jungle floor. From this elevated vantage point, you’ll explore new perspectives and begin to unravel limiting beliefs.
Later, we gather for a full sound bath using rose quartz crystal bowls and other instruments. These vibrations move through the body in subtle but powerful ways, releasing tension, quieting the mind, and restoring a sense of inner clarity.
-
Fire represents transformation and strength. Taking inspiration from Costa Rica’s more than 200 volcanoes, this day is centered around heat, energy, and power.
The day includes a warrior-inspired movement practice designed to build strength, presence, and connection to the body. Through movement and reflection, you’ll work with the energy of fire to awaken a sense of power and forward momentum.
Later, we gather for a fire ceremony beneath the open sky. At the center of this experience is a symbolic arrow breaking – an embodied act of release in which each participant is guided to break an arrow using the soft space of the neck. In this moment, you are invited to step more fully into your power.
-
Earth invites grounding and a return to what is steady, rooted, and true.
The day is centered around connection to the land beneath you, the natural world, and to a deeper sense of belonging.
In the morning, you’ll be guided through Corcovado National Park by a local naturalist, exploring one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. Along the way, you may encounter wildlife such as scarlet macaws, monkeys, tapirs, and even pumas.
Later, we welcome an artisan from the Boruca community, an Indigenous group known for their hand-carved ceremonial masks and rich artistic traditions. Through this cultural exchange, she will share her stories and artistry, and you’ll be invited to paint your own mask as an expression of identity, creativity, and connection to something larger than yourself.
This day brings the week into the body in a different way, grounding your experience and anchoring a deeper sense of belonging.
-
Stardust invites connection to something greater.
This final day expands beyond the self, inviting a deeper sense of connection to the world around you and the energy that connects us all.
The experience includes a reiki-infused sound bath, allowing the work of the week to settle and integrate on a deeper level. Later, we gather for a Summer Solstice ceremony. Marking a moment of light, transition, and renewal, this closing ritual offers space to reflect on the journey you’ve taken, honor what has shifted, and step forward with a renewed sense of connection to yourself.
-
After a final morning in the rainforest, you’ll depart Corcovado Wilderness Lodge by boat and be transferred to Drake Bay Airport for your journey home.
Retreat Accommodations
At Moonwake Retreats, we believe that where we stay shapes how we feel. That’s why we intentionally choose secluded, high-end accommodations that support privacy, rest, and alignment with our values.
Night 1: La Paloma Lodge
Our one night together at La Paloma Lodge is a moment to gather and rest before heading deeper into the wild. Located in the remote town of Drake Bay on the Osa Peninsula, La Paloma Lodge is a boutique, family-run oasis where the owners have restored once-degraded cattle land into thriving rainforest.
Each room or villa provides stunning ocean views, and is unique in character, built with thoughtfulness to honor the natural landscape. Floor-to-ceiling windows, air-conditioned spaces, balconies, beach access, and a pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean invite you to rest, while hammocks offer front-row seats to the Costa Rica sunset.
This opening night is an invitation to take a deep breath and connect with your fellow travelers before venturing together into Corcovado Wilderness Lodge.
Nights 2-6: Corcovado Wilderness Lodge
Next, we travel by boat to Corcovado Wilderness Lodge: a rare secluded haven bordered on three sides by over 450,000 acres of national park and reserves, and on the fourth by more than a mile of breathtaking oceanfront.
The peaceful Rainforest Villas blend modern comforts with true nature immersion: plush beds, the rare tapir or puma passing outside your window, indoor/outdoor showers, spacious air-conditioned interiors, and the sounds of the jungle all around. Between activities, you might cool off in the spring-fed pool, visit the full-service spa, or wander down one of the private rainforest trails.
Corcovado Wilderness Lodge is powered by renewable energy systems, and every stay contributes directly to critical conservation and community development through their Every Stay Does Good program.
A dedicated concierge team ensures every detail of your stay is cared for throughout your retreat, from providing boots for your rainforest hike to arranging any personal requests.

That said, there’s no pressure to socialize. We honor those who need solitude, and we respect the needs of both introverts and extroverts.
In fact, if you prefer quiet reflection, we offer the option to wear an Inward Bracelet. This is our way of signaling to facilitators and other guests that you prefer to focus inward, without pressure to share or socialize.

Yes — both La Paloma Lodge and Corcovado Wilderness Lodge offer WiFi. That said, connection speeds can vary and are best for light use such as checking email or messaging family. Part of the benefit of this retreat is the chance to step away from the constant digital noise of daily life. We encourage participants to truly disconnect and immerse themselves in the retreat curriculum and the rhythms of nature.
